Late in the evening...working on my Color Theory final project: key a Beatrix Potter illustration to colors chosen from one of four Snow White backgrounds by Maurice Noble. You can see the beginnings of my final painting, which is required along with a value study and two color studies (one warm, one cool). I like painting in the kitchen at night.

Painting a Conceptual Device
I did this with one brush(in different sizes) in photoshop. I wanted to keep a painterly quality in the image, so it's all tablet painted, no paths. Its a portable device with a semi- transparent screen...don't know what will be on the screen yet, probably grocery lists. I'm going to do A LOT of quick renderings this year for thesis, so I'm trying out different styles. What do you think?

Preparing to make a Daffy Duck maquette...
For my perspective class, our assignment is to sculpt a Looney Tunes character, and I've chosen Daffy Duck. I watched the cartoon, "Rabbit Seasoning" about six times through tonight, pausing to make sketches of Daffy. Then I started to animated a turnaround of him, but I didn't have the patience to see it through. I will start sculpting tomorrow.

Drawing Dump
Paul and I promised that there would be more posts in July than any previous month. Let's stop making July so lame!
Paul, you can go to Iowa with Winnie for $950 including EVERYTHING--airfare, hotel, car. I just bought a package tonight and am throwing the bus ticket in the trash (non refundable boo hoo).
Life drawings and sketchbook doodles from this summer so far.
